Marinara Sauce

Wine Pairing

Sangiovese, 2010


  • 2 large cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbl Italian parsley
  • 2 tbl olive oil
  • 2 pinches baking soda
  • 2 tbl pesto sauce, optional


Saute onion in olive oil until translucent. Add garlic and sauté for another minute. Add tomatoes and bring to a bubble. Reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes. Add baking soda. Season with salt and pepper to taste, parsley and pesto (if using). Serve over your favorite pasta.
